expat_in_africa. I spent the first 27 years of my life in Texas before moving to West Africa for three years to teach at an American International School. Well, those three years are up. I left Lagos, Nigeria, on June 12, 2006 and moved again to a place I've never lived before: the Northwest; specifically, Vancouver, Washington. This new journal will be quite different from the former one. It will certainly not contain the long-form essays that are found at expat_in_africa. I'm going to put such energies toward receiving payment for them, if at all possible. I don't know what this new journal will be like, so take it or leave it.
EDIT: Well, I haven't managed to get paid for those long essays. Nor have I managed to keep writing them. But I may have time for a poem or two. I think I'll dedicate this journal to poetry, however bad, from here on out. [I said this on March 25, 2007].
